Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not really a road bike, but here's my 2009 Trek District Carbon. It's been upgraded with a 20T rear cog for about 72 gear inches, Mavic Ksyrium Elites, Ritchey WCS Carbon bars, Bontrager XXX stem, and a few other bits. I'm eyeing SRAM carbon brake levers and some other upgrades.

I will admit publicly for the first time this is the first Trek EVER that I have found visually appealing.

I know I just posted, but changed out the tires, added the pedals back and fixed the front brake boss so the bike is now complete sans cages/racks.

This is my touring bike. Lol. Don't know why people in the 41 think EVERY bike has to be setup for racing. See the Manocoque or the Allez for more aggressive riding. This bike is meant for many miles at a time with a pretty full load.

You don't know the circumstances. However, I realized you were probably referencing vaults bike after the fact. We all took offense

We understand that people think every bike should have a slammed stem, which is beyond hysterical considering this is not the HOT OR NOT thread. No said, what are you talking about. I think it;s more of a "What makes somebody else decide spacers are bad." Asshats on here telling people to slam their stem on touring bikes and commuter bikes just because it is aesthetically pleasing. Clearly these same people that claim to know what is BEST for EVERYONE has never ridden a lonely path, a couple week tour or even understand Why they make different stems and steerer length in the first place. The gross generalities on BF in regards to stem placement is simply pathetic. People see 3 big races on TV and think every normal bike should be setup the same as the pros. Lol. On the other hand, I am not saying there is anything wrong with a slammed stem, but you don't hear me saying, "Raise that stem you clearly don't know how to fit on your bike" as all the people do with the opposite. All I can say is "Mind Your Neck". Telling people how to setup their bike despite never seeing the person next to the bike is a damn joke. There is a reason I used to laugh at all the roadies or wanna be roadies who would come in with this slammed setup (But not have anything else properly adjusted) and then asking about comfort and fit. They said, "This is what people on the internet told them to do." And I would say, 75 dollars to correct what the strangers you listened to told you to do. Have even seen multiple occasions of people having to replace the fork because they thought slamming the stem was the way to go, til they realized it was too late. The name of the thread is "Show me YOUR black bike" not "Show me how others told you to setup your black bike."
