Maybe the CV forums 50 years from now will be cautioning about bikes from the covid bike boom. At least there won't be turkey levers. But, the bikes probably won't be around then either.

As much as I personally hate it, several of my friends and neighbors will only ride e-bikes. I've given some of these people nice midrange hybrids or MTBs I fixed up. The gift bikes were hardly ever ridden and I see them around the neighborhood on the e-bikes all the time.

The best bike is one somebody will actually ride.

Can't say I mind a bit of an assist from the standpoint of a bicycle for transportation either:
This was converted into a simple, 24V 250W pedelec. It has a bit of C&V cred too - it rides on 26x1-3/8" rims.
