Hello from Pennsylvania

Hi all,
I have to say that in the days of Facebook and Twitter a site like this really is kind of a blast from the past.

I'm Of A Certain Age (north of 50) and bought a cheap used bike that I enjoyed riding some years ago. Then one of the shifter cables broke, and I was going to make it a DIY project to fix it, but I never got around to it and that was probably 8 or 9 years ago.

This year, in a fit of Pandemic Lockdown Fever, I decided to buy a nicer used road bike (a Jamis Aurora) back at the tail end of April and have been building up my endurance ever since, just riding around mostly on the residential streets near where I live.

Hello and welcome from another newbie!
I have been doing the same as you, just riding the neighborhood, and definitely need to build my endurance. The inclines are a killer....especially when you have legs the size of a toothpick!

Yeah, the hills are a challenge. The area where I live is hills all over the place. The ~11 mile route I rode yesterday has 4 or 5 spots with 6+% grades!
