You didn't overpay @ $100. But, that saddle has to go.

Why do you think you overpaid? I saw that posted previously for a lot more money I think and thought then it was a great deal. If it fits you, I would think it is worth double what you paid. There is not much difference between that and the 1000s as far as general riding goes. It will be a very pleasant ride. Great snag, and great price.

Very nice condition. I think you will get every penny worth out of it in riding. You don’t want that foam stuff on the handle bars anyway. So wrap the bars with your favorite tape , fix the tire(s) , and maybe pull off the brake noodles(or not). But ride it like the wind and if it doesn’t “float your boat” , sell it on, you aren’t going to get hurt. Just my humble opinion and probably the rest of the c&v crowd as well. If it were me I would check grease in any of the non sealed bearings. That bike doesn’t look like it has been ridden much.

I "overpay" about 75% of the time but it doesn't stop me. I would say you did quite well @ $100 but yes, as cb400bill said, that saddle does not belong on that bike.

If it makes you feel better I sold an entry level Miyata 112 that I had gone through for $200 last month and based on the interest it created I could have asked for more... Your model is nicer than that 112 I think at $100 you did fine especially if it fits

Nice looking bike and it does help. The bike market seems to be quite dynamic lately with price fluctuations. They come and go quickly from what I've seen.

I'd say you did very well! I've been going over a friends 1988 312 for the past week. Extremely impressed with how nice it is for a bike that's sat for so long. Been just cleaning and degreasing as I go. Next up the Tange ME SII headset. Hopefully not loose ball bearings, LOL!
Anyway clean it up and get 'er out and enjoy it. Good buy!

Appreciate the reassurance on the purchase from everyone. Just picked up the bike and she appears to be in good shape aside from the issues mentioned in the ad. The rear tire is frayed on the sidewall so likely going to need more than a patch.

The OP has an irrational need to buy too many bikes? You’ve come to the right place. We can’t cure your affliction but we can help you enjoy it.

The tires, grips and saddle are things I almost always replace, anyway, so them being in awful shape is normally ammunition towards a lower price and an asset in my mind.
