Mounting a Phone in an Otter Box

I am having a heck of a time finding a phone mount that will fit my iphone 6s in the Otterbox case. Ideally I would like one that mounts to the steering stem. Any thoughts on what I might use?

I have tried this with a couple different things and ultimately decided that if I was to mount the phone it would need to be removed from it's case.

Perhaps this: https://www.rei.com/product/884717/t...unt-iphone-66s

Take the phone OUT of the case that will help to protect it if it falls off the bike so that I can punt it on the bike? Yea. No thanks. (But youre right: and that is a sweet looking case.).

A Delta mount designed for a phone larger than the iPhone 6s might fit around the Otterbox. I use a generic protective edge bumper around my iPhone 4s (edges only, doesn't cover the front or rear) and it fits in my Delta mount. A bit snug but it works.

The Delta mount should have options to clamp around the handlebar (which I use on my bikes with quill stems) or threadless stems.

Quadlock is highly regarded and they make an adapter you can slap on the back of an existing case (they also make their own cases, of course).

If you want to leave the otterbox unmolested, something like this maybe (there are a lot of variations on that theme).

check out my brava bianchi in this thread
https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...hangeable.html

if you take the phone out of the case, drill two holes with the width distance of your stem in the middle of the 2 holes, take a heavy duty zip tie, dont use the thin ones, fasten the case to the stem, plugin your phone into your case.

you can also make two sets of holes near the top and the bottom of stem alignment.

i have found that me using a 1$ case for my iphone 5 that i dont use anymore, has been the best bike cellphone mount over all the other products and expensive click in cases.

^this. I did exactly this when I was using my phone as a bike computer. They have a piece that you mount with the included VHB adhesive to the back of the case and then that attaches to the quadlock mount. It's bombproof and works super well.
