Salsa Warbird WTB i23 wheels
Anybody know what the WTB i23 wheels that come with the Sram Apex Warbird weigh? They seem like decent wheels after 500 miles of riding. Is there an XD driver for the hubs on these wheels?

Somewhere around 1850-1900g give or take. Not sure about the Xd driver.

I think they are heavier. Something between 2000 and 2100. I posted so on this thread
https://www.bikeforums.net/cyclocros...a-warbird.html
This
https://www.theproscloset.com/produc...ss-29-wheelset
says 2150 grams, but I'm not sure if all components match yours (or mine).

Thanks for the response. I would guess the wheels on my Warbird are closer to the first link. The ones in the proscloset link are boost spacing, and Warbird isn't. Only thing I'm not sure about is the hubs. There is a part number on them, so maybe a Google search will help. Seems like these wheels are built to take a beating. Will 1500 or 1600g wheels affect the wheels ability to stay true? Not to mention the beating wheels take. Rode 2 weekends ago in the mountains and climbed 5000 ft, with very rough gravel that vibrated one of my bottle cages so bad the welds broke! In any case, jw if a lighter set of wheels can still take a beating.

I can't answer your question definitively. Maybe somebody else here can. But significantly lighter wheels can be very sturdy. It depends a lot on spoke counts and on how much you weigh

To answer your question I highly doubt there is an XD driver for our stock wheels.
As for the other question, MinnMan is right on the money, lighter wheels can be strong but it's highly dependent on spoke count, your weight, and how much abuse you put on them. I broke my WTB rear wheel after 10 months of normal gravel riding and I'm not overly heavy at 185lbs. I broke an American Classic wheel after a year under the same conditions. So this time around I bought Bontrager carbon wheels with a good warranty because alloy wheels don't inspire any confidence.
