$1400 Buy It Now for a Series 5 Paramount, and the seller says " I don't want to hear "It was made in China or Japan or Asia or anywhere else". I'm not or hadn't said what country it was from because I just don't know! The fact is it is a one-of-a-kind bike and a once-in-a-life-time find."

Umm, OK. It is nice, but not worth even the opening bid as far as I am concerned.

This bike is super lightweight. Original price was $750. You won't find a lighter bike for the money. Excellent shape. Everything works perfectly. 631 880 0892

How about Shimano aero brake levers that miraculously shift as well?

I love the clarification that they are shift levers only.
Not only is he wrong, but he makes sure to clarify his mistake.

I talked to the guy on the phone - he asked me to call him after I had emailed him. He's actually very nice. He listed the bike not knowing where it was made, just that it's a Paramount. He's a balloon-tire guy - not the first time this kind of thing has happened. He got defensive in his ad after getting flooded with cranky Paramount-police emails almost the moment he listed the bike. I explained to him that it's Asian-built; he knows that at this point. I guess he's sticking to his guns as far as his bid-price structure, at least for now. I told him it's not worth his BIN. He also had a reserve, initially - don't know if that's still there. It might be worth the opening bid price, IMO, based on the Icy Hot paint scheme (not sure I've seen that on a Series bike before), the quality of components, and the pristine condition, but perhaps not much more than that.

how about this one:
https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/bik/1149852055.html
"Comes With everything you see. Contact me anytime with questions! (951)-660-5414 text or call. Please NO WEIRDOS and NO SKETCHY PEOPLE!
just a few things. Both rims are Deep v's. Front Tire needs to be pumped Back one needs new tire but i will provide the tube. Comes with NEW MASI saddle. And metal toe clips there a bit rusty. This bike is incredibly light and INCREDIBLY FAST. back rims a flip flop. and frame is a 61 cm.

First off, are sketchy people bummed now that they can't call?
Second, $500 for yet another mismatched fixie with no original parts!?
Third, For $500 you better change that tube, clean, lube and repack bearings, and clean off any rust.

D******* lazy @** sellers.

Me too - and I think it adds value. I haven't seen the Schwinn Icy Hot paint on an Asian Paramount before, though I have on Waterford bikes:

Aren't steel Pinarellos made with Columbus tubing?

PINARELLO old-school hand-made ITALIAN frame (58cm) and fork. All chrome frame and fork. This is the same exact model frame that Alexi Grewal won the Olympic Gold medal for the USA in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles! It was painted before, but I stripped the paint on the frame to display the 100% chrome underneath. Way cool. Nice dropouts. Great for a fixie! Reynolds 531. Steel is real, baby!

This is the best part of the ad for a stripped bike frame with a poor photo. No proof to what it is in my opinion

"Just to be clear, the price is $300 for just the frame alone"

Schwinn OCC chopper - $100

Take your pick, they're all over. Tagline usually reads something about "Mint, in the Box!" "Never Ridden!" "Price will only go up!" "Sure to be worth $$$!"

Tagline should read "Bought this bike strictly so I could place a "mint in the box" ad on Ebay sometime down the road, and make a fortune. Bike has never been ridden because my kid won't ride it as they suck to ride."

In the past 5 years, I think I have seen one of these on the street. Our local co-op left these behind for the scrap dealers when they moved recently. Pacific should have branded these "Edsel" rather than tarnishing the Sting-Ray name. I'd like to know how many collectors went out and bought one of each color every year they were manufactured, and put them away, I could use a laugh.
