Jumbo Jim First Ride
I replaced my 6-year old Kenda Juggernaut 4.5 with Schwalbe Jumbo Jim 4.8. Although the Juggernauts had less than 40 miles on them (I bought my 2017 Mongoose Argus Comp recently with only 10 miles on it), I think they simply aged-out. They had become stiff/hard. The gum sidewalls developed dozens of cracks and they made an odd squishing noise. So I ran the new Jumbo Jims this morning with 10PSI front / 12 PSI rear as a starting point. First impression of the tire? I guess I would say supple. And stone cold silent! The squishing was so loud in the Kenda's, it was like a warning siren for anything ahead on the trail. The trails I ride are in the south central Florida 'jungle' frequented by bobcats, bear, panthers and large wild hogs. It was a bit eerie this morning riding this narrow single track in complete silence! I was just waiting to come around a blind corner and have something staring back at me Love the tires. Traction is excellent and the larger size swallows up even larger roots and obstacles. I didn't play with pressures but next time out I plan to try 8F/10R psi. The tires 'feel' lighter, not sure if that is the actual case. Still running tubes because I'm doing a long ride through the Everglades soon and did not want to experiment with the tubeless conversion right before that ride.

Seems you've been bitten by the fat bug.
Not to play the music, but I knew you would be convinced when you expressed your doubts on your first post

Let's put it this way, I did a 42 mile ride on the road bike today and most of the way I was thinking how much more fun it would be to be riding the fatbike on the trails .... yeah, I got the bug
