How to mount a Rockshox remote lockout on a 31.8 drop bar?

Like the title says. One of those accessory mounts might work, but it will probably start moving at some point if I keep pushing and releasing it. The clamp is probably too small to slide all the way onto the drop bar. The bike is an 06ish Motobecane Fantom pro 29er built from a bare frame. Tora 318 with remote lockout(obviously) The drop bar is a factory Cannondale bar with a 31.8 clamping area, cross levers, and a shorty Specialized stem to correct reach issue of adding the drops. Are any of the accessory mounts out there stiff enough to stand up to this sort of application?,,,,BD

Build isn't done yet.... It's getting it's fat tires back tomorrow...

Most droppers use a simple cable lever, what about using a bar end friction shifter instead of the supplied mount?

Well, it has a dial on it, to control compression dampening, or whatever Rockshox calls it. Not just a simple lever and button like some have. That would complicate things I imagine. Like a preload for the lockout I think? It's not a rigid lockout from what little I have read on it. Just got the frame and fork today. It's not a full rigid lockout, more like "much stiffer" setting.,,,,BD

A picture of the control might prove helpful.

You will have difficulty because they designed the lever for 7/8 tube MTB bars and you have Road Bars
that go from 1.25" down to just 15/16"

Likely simplest.. add an accessory mount for the smaller tube diameter to fit the Lock out lever .

More elegant; Have a Shop fabricate a spacer with a 22.2 (7/8") tube out the side, perhaps?

I was thinking about that, a one piece stem spacer with a mount on it. Probably just an accessory mount mounted to the rear of the bar though. It's looking more 29erish now, and is ready to ride tomorrow.,,,,BD

This is still too big (OD 26MM) But, the Inside will take some tube smaller

to potentially have the Needed Tubing diameter .

I never know if people are capable of more than taking pictures of a Problem than solving it.

The problem isn't that the bars are 31.8mm, its that the clamping area isn't MTB spec of 22.2mm which is what the RS mount is designed for.

What your trying to do is something that the components were never designed to do, have you looked at dropping the remote, and converting the fork to a crown mounted adjuster?

I'm curious if anyone has found a solution to mounting a remote lockout on a 31.8 drop (road bike) bar? Can't believe this doesn't exist!

Why would it exist? suspension on gravel bikes is still very rare so no real demand if you want suspension, you probably be looking at a Lauf (or linkage) fork, Cannondale Slate or similar, which don't need this

I sold the bike a month or three later. Been so long I don't even remember how I mounted it.

You'll find that a lot of gravel and monstercross bikes are now equipped with some kind of suspension system, ie stem, seatpost, or fork (Lauf, etc.). Guess I'm only slightly ahead of the curve!
