last night i got a shooting (including at me) on gopro

shooting people in a car for who knows what reason. then shooting at me for being there. the first two clear shots are into the car, but when i ride tight against the white suv on camera right (trying to get in front of it for cover) and then the unfinished pavement they're shooting at me. you can kinda hear two of them going off at :34 or :35.

gopro did a terrible job with the picking up the audio and footage. wish i had it on 4k instead of 1080. you can't hear anything the shooters were saying, can't hear the bullets wizzing by my head and cutting through the tree leaves. you can tell by the way i'm riding i'm being shot at. i've reached out to video editing friend to see if it can be fixed; it cant.

biking in chicago.

Best bet is to haul ass. Most shooters are terrible with a handgun, and Have a hard time with accuracy beyond ten yards. Even lower odds of hitting a moving object with any accuracy. If theY do get lucky and hit you, odds are it will not be fatal. Distance and movement are your friend.

^anonymous tip including the video, time, location, and explanation of events. between gopro and garmin, i knew exactly where and when it happened.

i don't think the people or person in the grey or white suv i first pass did well.

oddly enough, if you look close, glow sticks were involved.

Riding at night in Chicago seems like the best reason I've heard yet for wearing a helmet ... provided it's Kevlar.

Being from Chicago, this doesn't surprise me, but the one time I got shot at, I was also on a bike. It was in Boston. I only really figured out what had happened about an hour later.
