Garmin Varia connectivity with Edge 1000
I've had my Edge 1000 and the Varia 500 for well over a year now, but lately it's been giving me trouble. I'll be going along with everything working, then suddenly I'll get passed by a car which never showed up on my screen. I never go out without a full charge on both units, but suddenly I run into this BS. To correct it, I have to pause, and restart the 1000 and this usually fixes it. Sometimes the fix lasts the rest of the ride, but sometimes not. Another thing to note is that the Varia icon remains on my screen which is deceptive. I have already updated the software on both devices, but I still lose connection. Also, I've tried removing and re-installing the Varia from the 1000. Has anyone else run into this?

I had this happen with my Edge 520. My fix was to buy a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt.

I don't mind spending the money for a Wahoo, but will it sync with my Garmin sensores, and 550 Varia?
