Well that was a long 8 days. Air quality finally got to "Moderate" today, so I waited until early evening and did a quick 20 miles. Now I'm way behind for the month, hopefully it'll be safe to breathe for the rest of the month, I spent the down time mapping new routes and have got some doozies planned.

We left for vacation Wed. Original plan had been to drive to New Orleans for 2 days and then on for a week at the beach in Gulf Shores Al. When Sally came along I canceled New Orleans when it looked like they would be hit. Then the storm moved and Gulf Shores took a direct hit. Spent the first night in Natchitoches La, famous for being where the movie Steel Magnolias was filmed. Got a quick 15 miles in. Pics below are the Cane River there. Once we realized that we weren’t going to Gulf Shores we sat in the parking lot at a gas station and booked a condo in Destin. Hopefully the rest of the vacation goes a little smoother. Say a prayer for the people in the Gulf Shores/Pensacola area, they looked to have gotten it pretty bad from what I saw online.

We have a tropical depression sitting right off the coast of southern Texas and there is a very good chance it will turn into a tropical storm and greatly affect our chances of rain here. I had already been riding around the rain this past week as there was a small wave right on top of us here in south Texas this past week, but a Tropical Storm, we'll have to wait and see.

Roads were still wet this morning, so I took a timed walk .
Thinking of taking a couple extra days and walk .

That's great!!, I'm about 5 months ahead of last year. Covid-19 has been good for my riding and spending.

Covid has been good for riding, but also a lot of other bad habits.
Somehow I've gained weight despite the additional mileage and speed. Too many nights living the High Life with Mr. Miller...

So, this is officially the most I've ridden in a year. Last year, I rode 1000.1 miles and it took me until the last couple days of October to get there. By my math, I'm about six weeks ahead of last year.
same here with 3 months to go....I'm at 1200 miles for the year the most I've ever ridden in a year, but this month is wearing me out
