Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Here you go. I cleaned her up a bit but the rims could use a polish. This bike literally fits like a glove.

Thanks! One of the best riding frames I've experienced. Miyata's proprietary tubing is awesome.

Made this mistake 20 years ago. Immediately ran into the back of an SUV at a red light. Installed an "Oh S*%#" brake after that. Eventually learning the feel of the bike and had it removed. Love the feeling of a fixed gear. My EAI Bareknuckle is my baby. She turns 13 this year. Doubt I will ever go back to a freewheel.

I put a freewheel on my fixie for the first time last week.
it’s an old BMX double, to match the Dingle I hope to receive soon.
I haven’t ridden a bike that can coast in years, I was riding alongside my son while he was jogging (I ride next to him with lights when he runs in the dark for safety).
Anyway, I rode up to him and slowed my cadence to match his speed.
the dam freewheel kept on going and I didn’t slow down.
we both ended up on the ground.
Coasting is dangerous. Beware of those bikes that move when you don’t tell them to!
im getting the hang of coasting again, and will keep it for bike camping and commuter days when I am racked, but once I adapted to fixed gear, that’s where my fun is.

You get used to it, just don’t try to relax and try to coast it wakes you up real quick haha.
Also if riding on street at minimum have front brake

have fun

The biggest issue I encountered when I moved to a fixed gear was learning how to fart while peddling. I took for granted the ability to stand up while not peddling.

And all this time I thought that's what the cutout in the Brooks saddle was for.
