Hello From Phoenix
Hello, new user here, have been fiddling with bikes off and on for years and have come here often for opinions in the past. Thought I'd share my latest ride, it's a '87 (I think) Nishiki Cresta GT rescued from a trash pile. It was a basket case, originally the blue and white paint scheme, and all that remains from the original is the frame, front deraileur and cantilever brakes. Pretty much had to keep those because the narrow fork blades don't seem like they would take modern ones. Currently has Velo Orange wheels, VO pedals, VO cages, Tiagra rear mech and crank and Compass 38mm Barlow Pass tires. This thing is comfy and can ride all day - but I still fool with building other bikes. Once I decide on a permanent bar position i'll go to a quill stem instead of the arrangement you see.

Oops, looks like I posted the second picture twice. That's my wife's early 80's Fuji, Campy wheels, VO fenders, ancient Brooks B72 rescued from an old Raleigh, first gen shimano thumb shifters, and a box for her little dog. Found that one on CL for 50 bucks years ago, original paint is pretty good. BTW the red one is rattle canned with one of the new Krylon Superbond paint / primer in flat burgundy. It gave a really nice even finish and took just under 1 can to do. Stripped to bare metal first.
