Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Same.

So they can piss off the thrifty runners just like they have the thrifty cyclists? Class act.

Yeah. iPhone 8. I used an app for my ride tracking today that drained the battery bigly.

I think more cyclists use Strava on a phone while riding than runners while running, which makes this extra funny because your recording device (almost certainly a Garmin) will give you that data anyway.

The sun doesn't even rise until 7 a.m. now, even later in the winter, so it must be tough switching to not riding in the dark.

What are you going to do without Owls football this year? Maybe cheer for a nearby team that wears orange?

I put the bike on the stand tonight (properly this time Rj)
Time for my weekly clean and lube. While doing that I also wanted to narrow down the squeaking I have been hearing.

Well, It seems to be coming from everything drive chain related. I don’t think it’s the pedals, But I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me. I sprayed some tri flow on the pulleys, and relubed the chain. It seemed to help but I don’t really know what else to do. Cassette was tight, and if the wheel spins freely there isn’t any squeak.

I've heard stories from car mechanics who have moved from salt states and have worked on corroded cars a bit myself. They say you can't have a shop without a cutting torch and you have to make a lot of brake and fuel lines.
