Need freewheel tool

Can anyone tell me what freewheel tool to get for this? It's from a Schwinn Traveller III. Don't know the year. None of the Park tools that I have fit it.

See about 5 min in.

If it's the old style Shimano just pay the shop to remove it rather than find the tool

Looks like the old style Shimano "Boss" freewheel. Those have been out of production for at least 30 years, and the tool (TL-FW20) is not easy to find. An established bike shop or local bike co-op might have one. Lifu made a copy but I don't see them in stock anywhere online.

N.B. you need to remove the drive side locknut and spacer in order to insert the tool.

Seriously just pay $5 or so to a local shop to remove it.

Freewheels wear out, (aka consumable) then you have a tool to remove a worn out freewheel .
the replacement freewheels adopted a later spline removal tool. interface
that does not require tearing down the hub axle to use ..

If your next old bike has a suntour freewheel, you'll need a different tool. So if you like having tools you only use once every ten or twenty years, go for it.

I've had bike shops loosen things like this for free. And you don't need the tool but to remove it. You just put it back on with your hand and when you go for a ride, it'll take care of itself.

You will never use that tool again after you remove that freewheel as that spline pattern is no longer made.

I picked up a Boss (TL-FW20) on ebay a couple of months ago. Saved searches can be useful.
i have a keeper bike that I needed it for.

Buy the tool if it's only a few bucks on Ebay (and they usually are). I tried to get an oddball freewheel off a bike and the local (Brooklyn) shop wanted $15 (minimum service charge).

Here's a modern reproduction from Kengine in Taiwan:

Alas, out of stock.

Kengine's web site has a link where you can make an inquiry:

Nice find! I love ebay for this type of stuff. I'm always happy to avoid having to pay scammy shop prices for simple things like this. Good job!
