Yeah, this for me too. When I had a MTB I was more inclined to drive to the trailhead. With a gravel bike, I ride from the front door most of the time. That versatility is a bonus, even at the cost of it being the ideal tool for either job. I'm getting in lots more miles as a result!

69 yo, a committed roadie just over 35 years. Vintage collection and ‘modern’ Campy10 Ergo bikes.
The frames are still the same size. Just now narrowing the handlebars back to 38cm. A couple have gotten shorter stems, by a cm or 2. I like shorter cranks.
Little interest in in mountain biking but some experience with my 30’s son - who is NOT a roadie.

Latest completed build = AustroDaimler VentNoir frameset, purchased from a BFer.
