Bent Campagnolo rear derailleur mounting bolt? WTH

As I'm piecing together my latest project, the rear derailleur bolt didn't seem to thread on correctly.

It wouldn't seat properly, and so off it came for inspection.

This is an 8 speed Chorus rear derailleur AFAIK.

The derailleur body and cage don't appear to have been involved in a major collision.

Is it possible that a washer or c-clip is missing or broken?

Can the mounting bolt be replaced on its own?

TIA

Dollars to donuts, the bike fell over onto a smooth floor.

I'd looked for an exploded diagram and see if all your parts are there. I bet they are. You just need a new bolt. It looks like that one is soon to break at the threads

What model Chorus is that? If it's 8sp era, I think you need a RD-RE019 bolt.

Blast! You're probably right.

Yep, that's the correct era, this is a 1993/1994 Chorus.

Will start searching for a replacement.

Here's the exploded diagram: Campagnolo Spare Parts Catalogue - 1994 Product Range page 15

That part may prove difficult to find - you may have better luck finding a banged up RD as a donor. I think all the 8 speed RD's used the same part though, so Record, Veloce or Chorus will do.
