Monviso Bicycle, someone knows this brand???
Hi, I wanted to ask if anyone knows the Monviso brand from Turin, Italy. I cannot find bibliography or the history of this brand. just a few photos of condorino attached the brand (headbadge) shield taken from condorino. It turns out that an old frame without apparent marks came into my hands only with the MONVISO brand seat clamp and this frame has all the characteristics of being Italian. If anyone knows more about this brand, I will be very grateful. Thank you

Hello and welcome to the forums. Where are you and the bike? Is it a complete bike? If so are there any brand or model names on them? Do you have any pictures? You can’t post them until you 10 post but if you upload them perhaps another member will post them for you.

Hi, I'm from Argentina, I only have the frame and the fork. IT DOES NOT HAVE VISIBLE BRANDS. only the seat collar says "MONVISO". the pedal box is 36mm x 24, campagnolo rear hooks. zeus front hooks, the fork has probably been replaced. saddle size is 26.2mm internal brake wiring the same with rear derailleur wiring. IF I HAVE PHOTOS BUT I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN UPLOAD THEM, I'm a novice. In this link I could see only an advertisement with photos on landlordscycling thank you very much

Hi @Petit Breton, welcome to BikeForums!
Here's the pic of that seat collar:
The Monviso brand was registered by Michele Garetto in Savigliano (in the province of Cuneo). This is why the head bage has "M.G.S." at the bottom.
Garetto also sold motorcycles under the same brand name:
I'm not sure if Garetto built frames at his own shop or marketed contract built ones, or perhaps did a combination of the two. I have seen one Monviso frame that was definitely built by Giuseppe Pela, but I'm not sure on the others I've come across.
If the fork has Zeus dropouts (and considering it's attached to the frame that wears that seat collar), I would be inclined to think it's a replacement, too.

Dear maurice moss, I upload the photos of the road frames in question. It has number 13559 and the seat post clamp in the photo is exactly the same. I am sure that this frame has undergone modifications throughout the years. the fork is not original since the hooks (dropouts) are ZEUS. and also has the supports to place the gear lever (I don't know what this piece is called in English, sorry) in Argentina. The historical report that I present is of great value to me. I appreciate in advance. the idea is to collect the painting and roll it again on the Argentine routes.

Thank you very much for the photos, excellent job with them!
The frame is constructed with Agrati lug pattern "AM" ART. 000.8040/U
The head is bulge-formed (not three-piece) and is item N. 000.8046
The seat lug is item N. 022.8049
Agrati offered the lug in three configurations:
a) bare with no binder ears nor Malaguti plugs
b) with conventional binder ears
c) with no binder ears and with Malaguti plugs
your frame exhibits type c)
this image includes an Agrati seat lug with the Malaguti plugs:
The Campag dropouts are item Nr. 1010
The Campag shift lever boss braze-ons are item Nr. 660
Hope this helps you a bit.
Others shall be along with more and better information.
