Bilenky Custom Steel Crit Bime 58ETT - $1100 (Boston)

Filet Brazed ultralite steel crit bike with Reynolds 953 top and down tubes and Columbus life elsewhere. Columbus muscle fork.

Amazing bike with quick and smooth ride, very tight geometry. Built approx 10 years ago and simply prefer other types of riding nowadays. Fresh tune by Apex, ridden twice since then.

Sadly it acquired two paint chips on the top tube during a move. No dents. Planned to have hot tubes touch it up, but figured would leave that to new owner.

Spec is 10spd SRAM, mostly rival with red cranks. Chris King headset, DT Swiss rims and 240 hubs.

Can send build sheet.
8 deg sloping top tube
73 deg ST
73.5 deg HT
HT 213mm
TT 570.1mm
ST 540mm
Chainstays 405mm

Makes for 58 ETT and 61 EST
  • do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers
Oooo! I'm a sucker for Bilenky's!

Looks like an '89 SM800- from what I can find, the XC Pro mech would have been an upgrade on this (original specs were XCD). Nice work with the riser bars, too.

The rider is trying for a cruiser or hybrid position on this bike. The geometry doesn't seem to be helping much.

Close! Your stem seems like a 0 degree stem, while the posted bike has a rise, maybe 5 degrees.

Looks like the 2004 paint scheme, according to Trek's model archive site: click. The 2004 model's supposed to have Ultegra components, and earlier models had Shimano 600 components. No telling on this one, as it's unspecified whether it's original or tweaked. But, if original and even if only treated like a parts bike ...

Did you miss the part about the 600-ultegra transition? Same tier, different branding. That price is UNREAL, maybe they left off a 0?

Maybe not, there's enough evidence of damage even in the potato resolution ad photo. Especially at the DS seatstay.

I think what baffles me is the fact that the bars and saddle were adjusted for an 'optimum fit' while the downtube shifters were left alone. Completely contradictory, IMO, because that is a long way to reach down (to friction shift, no less). Why did the owner not go the whole way? No idea. I am tempted to address the state of this bike myself, but am as yet undecided.

Raleigh Super Course 12 speed Bicycle

Flint, MI
(Listed 4 hrs ago)

$150
Per ad: "1981 Raleigh Super Course 12 speed. In great shape for its age. A classic from it's original owner. This bike has a 23 inch frame and 700c x 1 wheels. Complete with original owners manual and recipe. Comes with everything seen on the bike and includes a Brooks Professional leather saddle that is not shown. I'm too old for this bike now but still remember the good times riding it"

My size... not so much my budget. I had a brief thought of bicycle fire sale, but in the end... nothing about this bike fits how I ride bikes. Also, I am not sure I want to take that NOS plunge.

Building this one up appropriately would take another nice chunk of cash.
