The De Rosa is very nice. I wanted one in 1990 but couldn't spend the cash. Bought a frame from Dave Tesch instead. btw, I broke one of those Modolo stems and I think there was a recall on the early ones. They would crack on the bottom around the pinch bolt.

Actually it was cold and damp. Sun never came out. No rain but such a heavy mist everything was wet. Bike was filthy when I got back.

Cool, damp and misty - been lots of that near Seattle this late Winter and Spring.

Maybe central coast CA will get late rains and keep your hills green til Memorial Day.
Of my 25+ years in Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties only happened once or twice.

I like it like that to a certain extent, as long as the roads aren't too slimy and I don't get soaked. Climbing in cool, damp conditions is, well, cool.

There were signs indicating the park was closed due to coronavirus but didn't make it that far anyway. Was probably less than 2 miles but it was getting cold. That was the wettest ride I've ever had where it wasn't actually raining. I met someone a while back that rides to the top on a recumbent trike regularly. I imagine he can do some crazy speeds on the descent.

A day ride from home, unsupported, 120 miles, 8,919 feet of climbing. 3 of us, between 54 and 63.

This could go in the "What do you ride?" section to, but this was from yesterday's gorgeous day's ride:

Finally got out for a "normal" weekend ride, albeit all by myself. I have photographed this spot many times, but I don't know that is has ever looked so beautiful to me.

Nearly, its a bronze lady hare. Its by Sophie Ryder and is called 'crawling', recently put on display in Berkley Square in London. https://www.sophieryder.com/

I cycled past and was like 'hey wait, what, errr' as my brain tried to figure out what the eyes were seeing, here it is from the rear.
