Identifying this Eddy Merckx
I searched as many threads as I could before it all ran together. I believe Cadra says it is a 1985, M6C-7688-Z 1985 Professional Team Panasonic.
Any help would be appreciated about the value. Thanks

Nice bike.
I don't know how he has missed it, as he is usually like an eagle and can spot any Merckx chat anywhere on the net, and swoop in to offer free and detailed frame information, CyclesMakaron is a forum Merckx expert, and I'm sure will have more info on your frame. Or maybe he has not missed it and is writing up a detailed analysis of your frame as we speak.
I've mentioned him here so he will get alerted to this, but he also recently wrote up a specific post about Merckx and Reynolds 753 which you may want to see, and can be seen here: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...653-753-a.html
And he also started a thread about decoding Eddy Merckx frames, which shows a great collection of Merckx bikes, and is probably the best place for your query. So your bike can be added to that list, you may want to post here too: https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...-frames-8.html

Thank you for the links, I'll check those out. I look forward to any help from CyclesMakaronto decode this bike. At 6'4" this bike is a bit small for me, but I still took it out for a short ride. Beautiful ride, very smooth, shifting was great.
Thanks again

My guess, based on serial number, would be very late 85 or early 86 (mine is Z566 and is Q3 84, plus assume 5,000 bikes +/- per year).
753 is well regarded and although it needs a good cleaning, that looks like a nicely equipped example- Dura Ace is 7 speed, I presume?
Lack of chrome brings down the value somewhat. Rims look hardly used but eyelets are questionable and look corroded.
If this is located where you are, that’s an $800 bike all day.

It's a very desirable frameset in a popular size made out of a rare tube set, I even think that the paint looks great.
Try a BIN of $800 for the frame/fork/headset on Ebay and see what happens.
Keep the Dura Ace for yourself.

I think a 753 Merckx is worth way more than $800 as f/f alone.
I would guess the value as it sits closer to $1500. 753 is difficult to cold set to 130, that is the only drawback I see to the frame.
This is assuming that it actually is 753. I never believe decals. If it is 753, it's a rare bike. It looks barely ridden.

Spring 1986... It's called Pro 753, but for the record:
- take off the front wheel and check the inside of the steering tube: do you see any riflings? (photo pls)
- for the advanced: is a card (photo pls) attached to the steering tube?
...the absence of chrome on 753 was natural in 1986...
...frame elements, painting and stickers (valuable to me: no golden sticker on the top tube) fit the serial number, no X or R markings next to the "overturned" P also fit the 753...
...a beautiful thing...

Thank you for the response, I hope the photos show well enough, there is a bit of smudge in the steering tube. The think bike/paint is in great shape, just needs a really good cleaning. I can remove the brake mounting bolt and clean it tonight if needed.

Thank you for your help, so it sounds like it is real, a 1986 Pro 753. What else would I need to do to establish the size and a value?
The last thing after finding out the size/value would be a really good cleaning, some new photos etc and someone that needs/wants this bike. Thank you again.

"...and someone that needs/wants this bike" - I wouldn't worry about that...
The steering tube card contains information about the "factory" frame size
(and a few more)
I can't figure out the value of the EMC framework/bikes, but I'd be surprised if someone didn't offer $1,000 for it... $1,500, too
