Rear Wheel Wobble

Well I was getting my daily mountain biking fix when I noticed ( I forget how) a ever so slight wobble in the rear wheel. I manage to get to my car just fine, and the bike rode just the same. Is this something that needs to fix now or is the bike still rideable?

Wobble where? If the rim wobbles between the brake shoes, that’s a rim truing issue. If the wheel wobbles when you grab hold of the wheel and it moves back and forth, that’s a bearing problem. Both should be addressed but the bearing problem is more pressing than the rim.

I think it is the tire that is doing the uneven wobble?

That could be a tire mounting problem. Look at the point where the bead mounts on the rim and spin it. Look for the sidewall diving down and going back up. You might be able to deflate the tire and pull the bead up where it dives down. But tire issues may be a quality control issue and can’t really be fixed. It happens. Tires are the least precisely made part of a bike. If it bothers you too much, you may need to get new tires.

You don't think it is the wheels do you? How much would that cost to replace?

I can’t tell because I can’t see the wheel spin. Spin the wheel and watch where the wobble is. You can attach a zip tie to the frame so that you have a visual guide. Do that and get back to us.
