Commuting to South SF from city and group rides on weekdays
Hello all,
I've finally achieved touch down in the bay area after a few hectic weeks of moving from San Diego. My temporary housing will be in South Beach for the next two months. Afterwards, I'd like to move to noe valley, mission, NOPA etc, but not south beach. In any case, I am wondering if there are any people on here who commute or know how to commute easily to South SF from South Beach(for now). From what I've seen so far, the route seems pretty round about. Are there safety concerns with doing this commute as well? I'm a pretty experienced bike commuter although I'm not sure if commuting in SF is different as I saw some pretty sketchy moves by commuters when I was here on a home finding trip. Also, do any people here work in South SF do group rides after work in the peninsula? I saw there is the pen velo ride on tues and thurs. How long does it take to ride from south sf to the start point? Thanks!

Check out sf2g.com - they have a bunch of rides from the city that go through South SF. Where in South SF are you based?

We'll virtually be neighbors. Added bonus is having San Bruno Mtn on your doorstep for early morning/lunch rides.

there is a bike path that runs from the south side of the city to a bunch of office parks south of the city. I think somewhere in there is the Genetech campus. I've only ridden it once, and don't remember exactly how I got on it, but it starts out by the city dump at the end of Bayshore Blvd.
