Racin' 2011

It's already shaping up to be an interesting year. Evanston is out of superweek and into the NRC... or is it (check the superweek twitter).

Illinois Cup schedule is announced. Hillsboro is out and Leland is in. Also looks like Leland may have a separate field for the 3's this year (as well as women's 3's)? Should be fun...

The 2011 Illinois Cup
3/26 Spring Super Criterium
4/9 Sherman Park Criterium
4/16 Flatlandia Kermese (RR)
5/1 Vernon Hills Grand Prix
5/14 Monsters of the Midway
5/15 Fox River Grove Cycling Challenge
5/22 Urbana Grand Prix
6/4 O'Fallon Grand Prix RR
6/5 O'Fallon Grand Prix Crit
6/11 Tour of Galena Road Race (RR)
6/12 Tour of Galena Criterium
6/18 Cobb Park Criterium
6/25 Glencoe GP
7/24 Great Egyptian Criterium
7/30 Grayslake

Evanston is hosting it's on GP and it's a NRC race this year. it is our of Superweek for sure. That tentative schedule I showed you earlier...I just received an update and it is the same except for some small movement. Peoria to 8/20 as you see on the cup schedule, dixon to 5/7 and Evanston to 8/21. Also Cougar to 3/20. All prelim. Dates are subject to change all the way until they are permitted.

Oh, I have not doubt that the Evanston date is correct. It seems Superwee does, though:

"Clarification - SUPERWEEK'S Evanston Bike Race is Sunday July 17th, 2011. There have been reports of a change to August and they are not correct. Please mark your calendars."

I'm hoping Geneva can take the Evanston spot. As for Cougar being a week before the Spring Super crit, that could be fun. Where's Mayo when you need his inside knowledge? Can't wait to see if the State championships stay in O'Fallon and Peoria.

FYI- Hillsboro is already permitted and O'Fallon has applied.

what I have is the inside knowledge - it's the ICA schedule as it stands. FWIW - montrose is already permitted as well. Meh. Cougar was moved up and Evanston is 8/21. Superweek needs to get over themselves.

We should know about the state championships soon. No word yet but my bet is that the crit isn't in Peoria and based on the feedback from last year i would be surprised if the RR is in o'Fallon.

i'm looking forward to the Quad Cities Memorial Day races again. Will be doing the cat 5 wapello-burlington RR and the Quad Cities Crit. Other than those two, i'll be sprinkling in other races if they're convenient. not a great deal of racing around here.

Looks like a pretty decent amount of racing here.

I haven't been down to race in IA but I was maybe thinking about heading down for Snake Alley. That race looks fun!

Registration is up for Autobahn. I love how they've broken down the categories... I could race 4 times! Would be nice if there was a discount for additional races, but the prices are reasonable give race lengths.

First race is 25$, additional race is 10$
So there is a discount.

I have been riding (and lifting). Just haven't yet updated the trainingbible.com account if you've been looking. Probably a few more hours than you, but lower intensity for sure.

I was supposed to do that dinner with Joe Friel thing tonight, but I'm still caught at the office.
