Problems with seat bottle cage bracket

We've purchased a Specialized Crossroad for my wife. She prefers having two bottles mounted on the back of the seat. I purchased a bracket that mounts to the seat frame to which the cages attach. The bracket constantly slips, resulting in the bottles rubbing against the rear tire. I can only bend the cages up to a certain point before they interfere with sitting. I've used a piece of inner tube between the bracket and seat frame hoping this would stop the slippage but it still slips. Any suggestions that might help?

Perhaps a mount that attaches to the seat post rather than the saddle rails?

Which bracket? Make and model... TACX? Minoura? Other?

Exactly how is it slipping? Is it sliding down even though it is tightened or are the nuts and bolts loosening?

Some come with nylock nuts. If the nuts and bolts are loosening then try some Nylock nuts from the hardware store.

IMO, these are all common problems with behind the seat bottle holders of all brands. The other problem is they will just break as you are riding along one day.

I think the kind that clamp onto the saddle rails work a bit better.

I do have an older Profile Design holder on my TT bike for training rides, but I don't really trust it not to break eventually.

I am not sure of the make. I ordered it on ebay. The cost was $6.00. After inspecting it upon arrival, I was quite surprised at the quality of construction. The nuts/bolts are not loosening. The bracket slips. That is why I added the inner tube in hopes it would create a better grip. I may try putting zip ties trimmed very close on both seat frame bars below the bracket. If the zip ties do not slip, they may prevent the bracket from slipping down.

Pardon my usage of the wrong term. When I say seat frame, I am talking about the seat rails.

I have the TACX mount sitting in my closet collecting dust. You can have it. Free. I'd be happy knowing that your wife is using it and that I didn't have to throw it in the trash. If it doesn't work then give or throw it away.

PM me your address and I'll pop it in a mailer and get it off to Texas.

Buy a small hose clamp or two, and put it (them) on the seat rail just under the bottle holder clamps. Mount them dry, meaning no tape, or rubber wrap. That will make a ledge to add some anti-slide support and should end this problem.
