I dont understand the whole inverted fork thing (Trek 69 comes to mind). The bottom part of my fork gets scratched from when I fall and other stuff brushing against it, so with an inverted fork wouldnt the part that slides into the fork get scratched? Seems like a bad idea to me.

I think its along the same lines as when people put "huffy NOT kona trek banshee transition foes ect..." so it pops up in more searches.

Umm sorta, I was sorta thinking along the lines of the guy who sells bikes on here under the brand name Neo, but they are from the factory that makes the frames for other companies that can't be mentioned. Its talked about a little bit here

to get the same stiffness out of an inverted fork, they have to be made heavier. most inverted forks are less stiff than their similar use and travel non-inverted counterparts.

Truth be told, the only inverted fork I've ever seen in person was on a trek 69er that was being built up at one of the local shops. It defiantly had no guard thingy on it.

That would have been the dual crown/larger travel Maverick fork. Meh. Better than the singel crown, but not by much. The single crown is...noodly, to put it mildly.

Then they just hadn't put them on yet. Three of the guys I work with at the LBS have 69er SS, and they all have stanchion guards. Well, those that didn't stick a rigid fork on.
