My Schwinn Passage. First test ride = success!
Thanks to all those who helped with my various questions. I finished putting everything together, taped up the bars, and went for a ride around the block. This thing is smoooth! Coming from a modern road bike, 33c tires and brooks saddle definitely feels very comfy. The brakes need some work, maybe changing out the pads would help, not sure. Here's a picture or it didn't happen!

The old Huret shifters on there are super sweet- hang on to those.
The bike looks really nice- it's in great shape and the maroon/cranberry bar tape really compliments the blue.

Beautiful! Really nice job! It looks like a comfy ride. That would make a great century or brevet bike. Or throw some racks on it and go touring. I'd like to see more pictures!

Thanks! Yea I still have the Huret shifters, I actually didn't know I could use them as bar ends, until I bought the Suntours off ebay. I probably will get fenders next, and take some more pictures with a real camera. This forum has been super helpful!

I had it set up with bar ends for a while and I had to dremel the cable stops to fit onto those weird shimano-specific downtube shifter mounts, did you have to do that as well?
I really like the handlebar tape color! I wouldn't have thought of doing that red originally but it looks like that maroon/red and the twine color are a good match for the red and the gold in the top tube decal.

It really is a plush ride, which I think has a lot to do with the Brooks B68 I got. It's actually my first Brooks, and I got it purely based on online reviews and comments, but it worked out perfectly.

Your front brake cable transition is awful tight because of the aero levers and low stem height. You might consider this and this as a solution.

that's exactly the thing that is bugging me the most! The VO cable hanger is interesting. I'll probably raise my stem a bit and redo the front cable. I have to say tho, cantis are a pain to set up and adjust, at least for me.
