Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Just bought a few things so you all wouldn't feel left out. SS jersey, LS jersey, and a Garmin Edge 810. Oops.

And some bits.

Anyone have experience with Tekton torque wrench?

My bottom bracket started creaking. Everytime I slow down or start pedaling again it creaks. Crank arm is getting loose? Ive been riding 5/6 times a week, 20 miles a day since February- I'm sure it needs servicing.

shouldnt need any servicing unless its a loose ball bb. wasnt tight enough or greased enough initially

or its a PF something and youve reached the point where something happens and everyone hates them

Probably needs greasing since I saw the mechanic install it and everything. Dude definitely put everything to spec, but I felt like he could've used a bit more grease. We'll see. I'm just excited to be getting new tools

I just got a Garmin Edge 25. It is a tiny GPS that will do navigation (no maps). I used it this morning and it worked great.

Ride Safe,

Joe

New white Pro bar tape because I ripped my old tape re-wrapping after having to put new housing on after I cut it to the wrong length installing those niftly inline cable releases. But hey, new clean white tape!

I also bid on a -17º Ritchey stem to compliment the -6º degree I got last week.

I got one a while ago too for the times when I just want to track my ride, rather than use all the bells & whistles on my 810. I really, really like the 25.

Yes it is. I have yet to try it in the dark as it is still summer. I believe you hit the button and it stays on for a time, then shuts off to save battery.

I have had it for about a week and so far I am loving it. I swap it between my two bikes. The navigation works great. The only issue is that you can only follow routes that you create in Garmin Connect. This means that you can't upload rides from other people or groups created on MapMyRide or RideWithGPS. Still I am looking forward to taking the 20 mile hilly ride tomorrow that I mapped out earlier in the week.

Ride Safe,

Joe

Modern wiz-bang crank with a 1970s retro ring aint working for me either. I love the ring, it just clashes.

I didn't know it existed either. I did a Google search but forgot "Edge" and added an "8" in front of 25 and came up with this... https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/in-t...rod125475.html
