Hmmm...weird...I’m going through my BF saved 5hreads while watching TV...a commercial comes on for a rust coating commercial, and it flashed up onto my iPad!
It flashed up just as I hitting “return”...then disappeared...Hmmmm...weird...

I hate to sound like a conspiracy nut, but this seems to happen a lot to me. Who knows what we agreed to when we got in bed with Siri, Alexa and Cortana? One of my sons wrapped his present to me yesterday in aluminum foil. I was going to save it to polish rust off of chrome, but I may make hats instead.

One of our IT guys at the office is convinced that the smart home devices - like Amazon Echo - actually listen in on speech and then push ads at us. And this guy doesn't seem like a paranoid nutjob.

We've all agreed to EULAs that give away rights to information. We constantly interact with these devices, making choices and inputting data. There are six microphones within twenty feet of where I'm sitting, four of those have gps technology and cameras. Even knowing all that, I'll send this text out into the wild for little good reason, revealing a little bit more about myself. People used to nervously joke the CIA or FBI had a file on them. Now anybody with a few bucks can buy virtually everything any of us has put online.
It's not paranoia if it's real.

A while back a couple friends were chatting about a former teammate of theirs. They had their smart phones with them. The next day he sent them both Facebook friend requests. Seems that both of their names popped up on a "People you may know" list.
Coincidence?

I've had ads seemingly related to conversations pop up both at home and in the office (back when I was in the office). In neither place is any 'listening technology' enabled. To my knowledge.
So it has to be coincidence. The alternative would be a bit disconcerting.

this is no big secret, they all do this.
What freaked me out is when my work computer started auto finishing search terms from stuff I only look at on my home computer. Log into amazon or a gmail account and even that stuff synchronizes across machines.

I was watching a Dateline episode about a kidnapping and murder, while my phone was on and lying by my side. I the started getting ads for duct tape, rope, and shovels. Weird.

Right foot down most often though I ride with half-clips and platforms so I use either foot sometimes.
- I mount the bike from the left side and it seems more natural to plant my right foot and then position my left on the pedal
- If I "cowboy mount" it's my left foot starting the stroke
- I coast left-forward so it's more natural to start pedaling on the left.

if the ads actually benefited to my needs & wants, itd be much less annoying.
Who really wants a ********** from wish? A very low priced 36H rear carbon wheel would be better fitting.

I have talked with a couple of people that worked for either MS or Google. You better believe they track everything they get their hands on. It is no joke, and it is very real. They know more about you than you know about yourself. They are always listening, always tracking, always optimizing. No conspiracy theories here because it is happening in real time.

I don't get ads for that stuff because I buy it in bulk. I mean, ah... *nervous laughter* uh... never mind.
