A Mug of Beer or Glass of Wine after the Bicycle is stowed for the night?

Every once in a while I have a glass of wine, or maybe two. Its not much fun alone, and one glass gets me pretty tipsy anymore. Remember to stay off of the internet when drinking.
But we used to have a taco Tuesday before covid after the Tuesday ride down at our local burrito place and most would have Margaritas. I sometimes would have one but usually preferred a beer and burrito. But somedays didn't feel like having any alcohol and would splurge with one of the mexican sodas, ooooo love that strawberry soda. I hope once this is over we can go back to those days again. I so miss having a life outside of my apartment.

The barley and hops never taste better than after a good ride! I ride the Pinellas Trail here in the Tampa Bay Area...and for good or bad, there are several craft breweries right on the trail which make great pit stops! 👍

I love drinking 2-3 beers after getting home from a three hour bike ride. The beer really hits the spot. I like good beer and not the mass marketed stuff. Definitely don't like the IPA crap.

Shortly after I first got involved in the whole Recreational Road Cycling obsession, some fellow cyclists introduced me to the concept of the "post-ride beer"
For the few months prior to that it had never even occurred to me to imbibe after a ride, despite my being a beer aficionado. The first time someone mentioned a "post-ride beer" I was literally taken aback, shocked at how alien the concept was. Talk about Cognitive Dissonance: beer as a recovery beverage?!?!?
Boy did I learn fast.

Usually beer after a ride, though I generally prefer wine to beer. Nowadays I almost always drink non-alcoholic beer. Just a very few years ago all NA beer was horrible {O'Doul's anyone?). Nowadays there are a ton of really good NA brews (Erdinger, Two Roots, Lagunitas, Estrella Galicia, etc). Unfortunately, progress in NA wine has been dismal. It all still tastes horrible.

Sometimes a beer, and sometimes a diet Pepsi immediately after a good ride - then a meal. A couple or three hours later I like a glass or two of Prosecco.

Are over 50 bike riders teetotalers?
I haven't had any Beer or Wine for the last ten years. To me, exercise (running for many years prior to biking) gave me the pleasant sensation I was seeking. Plus, my spouse doesn't partake either, and it never showed up in the refrigerator. My job took up a lot of time.
I guess one other thing. Even when I was in my late forties, just two beers would knock me out.
Life is short. I may reverse course soon! Maybe this summer after a long hot bike ride I will have a cold gold Hefeweizen.

Why do you think cycling computers have a "calories burned" display? Divide by 150 and that's how many beers you can have and break even.
I'm not training for the Olympics, I'm just trying to enjoy life!
