But the easy most common answer is get alum colored valve stems, blue is faster.
Apparently they all already knew how to ramp back up from the winter. Some of us have never experienced that before.

  2. Do serious cyclists pull the mask up, or down, for the quick snot rocket?
Replace air: but my tires now have a higher concentration of nitrogen, which means they'll lose pressure more slowly. I was kind of looking forward to that. I don't know if I want to give that up, or have slightly lighter air by replacing it. I think that needs a serious pro-con discussion.

Torque to spec. Not advised to change it's orientation as they might be directional

Mask? Haz you gone insane? Chainsaw protection helmet with dust filtration & guard. Anything less & you'll be looked at funny.

Hey, it's your life. If you want to take such risks, that is on you.

did you lube the floor pump? wipe the grease off the pedro's headset wrench? stock up on 20 g CO2 cartridges? have the dishing tool re-calibrated? send the yakima racks out for a powder coat? stock up on sterile gauze and white tape?

Helium would be lighter of course, or better yet hydrogen. Helium would probably lose pressure faster that air (ordinary or N-enriched) though since the smaller Helium atoms will penetrate pores in the rubber faster.

Hydrogen! And then you'll really be the bomb. (that's what kids say today, right?)

Kind of hard to get ready for spring when it is 31 below zero like it was last night. Really cold in the garage, and with the rolling blackouts because of lack of power, it is dark in there too!!!!!!!

  • buy new gloves (although normally I harvest them off the regular route early in the season )
  • New shades.

It's cold here to, 43° in Georgia this morning. When it warms up, if the sun is out, I'll be able to get to the bike maintenance safely. That unrotated shift cable is gnawing at me, and I really don't want to go out in the weather to check it but I'll have to if this keeps up.
