Help University with Triathlon Study

Dear Triathlete:

You are invited to participate in a research study of the
characteristics and motives of those who participate in triathlons.
The goal of the research is to understand better those who participate
in this demanding activity. If you agree to be part of the research
study, you will complete an anonymous survey on the Internet at

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KKZ9STG

By completing this survey, you are confirming that you are an adult at
least 18 years of age, that you have finished at least one
USAT-sanctioned triathlon, and that you are answering these questions
voluntarily. The survey should take less than 30 minutes of your time.
There are no risks or discomforts associated with your participation.
You may cease your participation at any time without penalty. Your
answers are anonymous and will be analyzed only for the survey sample
as a whole. Results will be available upon your request.

If you have any questions about this research study, you may contact
Christopher Peterson, Department of Psychology, University of
Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1043; 734-764-6567; chrispet@umich.edu.

If you wish to participate in the study, please go to

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KKZ9STG

Thank you.

Wow, the questions get pretty disturbing and obsessive at 2/3rd the way through the survey. You are sort of freaking me out with how obsessive you are making the questions read.

Yes. My degrees are in Psychology and my job is consulting (business) which includes lots of surveys. This is a very bad one with lots of misleading questions. I just hope the data isn't used for the wrong purpose.

yeah it isn't really geared towards the first timer either... I mean I havent even completed my tri yet (next week EEP!) so, I actually exited it halfway through because a lot of the questions I can't answer. You should have a "No Opinion" or "unknown" option on some of those crazy "how obsessed are you" questions

This is a really strange survey. It seems to mislead, suggesting that it is looking for evidence of two things...to measure the percentage of people who do tris to keep weight down, and those that have emotional issues that they try to solve by doing triathlons.
Just my observation

Question

"that you have finished at least one USAT-sanctioned triathlon"

I am an Australian, and have completed two Sanctioned Australian races, do I count?
