Colnago Collaboration Vintage Looking Sneakers

Well, off topic, but they look sort of retro, and somehow Colnago is involved.

I have to say - I love them!

Kina looks like the Adidas "ROM" shoe that was popular when I was kid....
But the ROM actually looked much better and this new one kinda looks cheapy flimsy.....
Not impressed, despite the Colonago involvement which frankly I don't really see any evidence of....
JMO....

I only wear retro sneakers these days. Most modern day sneakers look ridiculous to my eye, more akin to over-padded, mushy moon boots than functional footwear. And they look especially ridiculous on older gentleman like myself.

That said, I really like these as well. The tan walls are pretty cool and they look like some of Adidas earliest offerings. I don't see much visible evidence of Colnago collaboration however.

They should reissue the Adidas Eddy Merckx, as a touring/l'Eroica shoe.

I like them.

They remind me of a "flashy" version of Stan Smiths.

btw How I wish Puma would reissue their "Bananas" sneaker from the mid-70s.

I just paid more than I should have for a new pair of Solomon Trail Runners, so this doesn't seem totally obnoxious.

I’m a sucker for 80s looking Adidas...i think every middle aged Jewish kid ftom my area grew up loving RUN DMC, and that made Adidas a fashion statement.

The “sidewalls” make these pretty hawt IMO...

Loving the red and the flag. Gmg is exactly on point - flashy Stan Smith’s, and in no world is that a bad thing! Also feel stupid looking in modern sneakers.

I’d buy a pair, but Adidas rarely fit me well.

I was just kidding around. The older I get the more I realize you can't skimp on footwear.

Just add my "Tommy Boy" record label jacket and you'd be seriously stylin.

Hah, wait till you hit your 60's.

It's no laughing matter.

FWIW I get new tennis shoes every six months. Been walking 1.5 hours a day and circuit training at the Y by our house.

Gotta have competent footwear. imho

I have to consider- Adidas fit my feet very well- have since I was 12 years of age, my feet have not grown since...

when my parents were at divorce court - my father's attorney was trying to saddle my mother with 8k of credit card debt. The judge asked what my mother had charged. She advised that she had purchased a pair of Adidas tennis shoes for me. About $20 with tax. My father got to pay for those too.

in the link it showed a road rider with black Adidas cycling shoes... I would like to find those also.

Almost as if Stan Smith rode bikes.

Sigh. Maybe Ironman will get a Chuck Taylor.

The Rod Lavers were very similar to those 'nagos. The Rocket's shoes, though, haven't had the staying power of Stan the Man.
(Some of the best baseline matches in history, by the way; finesse and precision vs. power and precision)

Yes!!, ....with Look pedal system cleat bolt pattern too. If they do bring these back, I would be first in line to get them!

They'd look great with a pair of faded mid-thigh length OP shorts one size too small.

These are cool but look nothing like stan smiths, or rod lavers. They do resemble ROMs.

Nice to see a pic of the ROM. I went through a few of those in the mid 70's in highscool.....
That was back when all Adidas shoes were made in Germany.

My first pair of adidas shoes were before Stan Smith, they were Robert Hallet signature model.

Did anyone look at all the pics? The last one, on the Nago? They don’t strike me as NOS, kinda grainy but the toe look different and it seems to have a small heal nub... yes please

Cheers,
Tony

Thanks. I was going on memory. In a town of 2200, and poor, the idea of leather “tennis shoes “ was not feasible. We had our heroes , not their shoes.
