Potential Sticky

Seems like we receive a lot of "What e-bike should I buy" questions. Might be helpful to direct them to a thread to answer some questions first. This list isn't all-inclusive and probably has extraneous section(s). Please modify as you see fit.
1) Budget
2) Intended use
3) Are you handy with tools
4) Do you have a bike to modify for DIY
5) Will you carry cargo (including children)
6) Do you need to carry the bike up flight(s) of stairs
7) Is your intended use on hilly terrain
8) Will you encounter headwinds
9) Will your weight plus bike exceed 230 pounds
10) Can you bring the bike inside at night
11) Will you use the bike in harsh conditions (either precipitation or temperature extremes.

OK, if this seems like a good idea, please modify and add to "Stickies". If not, we'll just motor along as usual.

Maybe include terrain? 100% pavement? soft sand riding? Hardpack trails? Black diamond ski trail? Significant altitude changes?

Saddle time per ride? 2-3 hr per ride or 4-5 hr per ride?

Distance per ride?

Desired speed during ride, or speed that operator is used to pedaling; if you put an inexperienced rider on a high speed capable e-bike, that may be endangering not only the rider, but others along the ride.

Maybe the mod will read this and incorporate a list incorporating these thoughts into a "sticky".

Nobody reads stickies
We usually only sticky active threads because of that.
