Starting to look like a bicycle. I should be finished and ready for a test ride by Sunday. Forgive the background.
Oh yeah, anyone wanna buy the old frameset?

Removing the annoying gunk from the new chain now. Tomorrow morning we tweak and adjust the brakes and derailleurs and it gets tested out! I just sat on it and I had the saddle height pretty on target. Oh this thing is light - while the pic sucks, it looks so awesome live. I may have just scored a set of BLACK octaramp chainrings as well (instead of those gold ones killing the flow).

It's done. I'll post pics later. 11.33lbs (5.14kg) w/ garmin edge 500, mount and cadence/speed sensor on there. I still have some other small things that will drop the weight a bit more, possibly down to 11.25 lbs. Now if it wasn't freezing w/ 40mph wind gusts I'd have gotten more than just a spin on my driveway in. Oh well.

Currently using the Yokozuna cables and housing, really like the performance these thing gives, but wish it was lighter. Anyone got any recommendations on a lighter cable system that at least have similar performance to the Yokozuna set, if not on par? Forgot to mention, using Planet X brakes and they're very picky on which cable system it uses...
Going to ask you a barrage of questions concerning your wheel set, so hope you don't mind.
How much was your wheel set?
Is that the actual weight for the entire wheel set? With or without the cassette?
Did not know fairwheel bikes build custom wheels. What was the turn around time and how much did they charge you for the building fee?
How do you like the the wheel set so far? Mind explaining likes/dislikes and/or advantage/disadvantage of your wheel set in detail?
Is your wheel set tubular or clincher?

I did try powercordz once, but I ruined the brake cables trying to secure them to the planet x brakes. Others have had better luck.
If you don't mind mixing, you could try using nokon or ilinks in place of just the tricky sections of yokozuna housing...

Give Alligator I-Links a try. It's pretty much the lightest stuff out there.

Running Yokozuna cables with KCNC C7s on my Spooky (15.76 lbs). Easy setup, works amazing...
Also...
Running Yokozuna cables with TR Ultralights (exactly the same as Planet X brakes) on my BMC (15.60 lbs.). Setup was a hassle, works well, but picked up another set of C7s to replace the TR Ultralights for the BMC as the Yokozuna/C7 combo has been that much better. TR Ultralights were 149 grams per pair, vs. the 164 grams per pair on the C7s. Worth the weight addition...

I've never used the yokozuna cables, but the i-links and mini i-links are much lighter. Never had a shifting issue that was cable related with these either.
