One of the newer RA's put AC/DC on in the lab... Nice pick me up. Reminds me of the Chicano AC/DC cover band that I've always wanted to put together en espanglish:

Es un long way, to el top, si to quieres rock y roll!

There used to be a Chicano ACDC cover band from HP(LA) that was pretty good. They played at El Cid all the time.

One of my exes turned me on to them. Sound like Low, but folksy.

Hahaha.
Speaking of Chicano AC/DC sort of:
I was on a trip with some friends and one of my friends wanted to listen to Pearl Jam and we were currently listening to Aynotchesh Yerefu by Samuel Belay and instead of changing it we just called it Ethiopian Pearl Jam and pissed my friend off. We eventually listened to actual PJ

If you haven't heard Africa 100 find it and listen to it. Some really funky African jams on there. Stuff you might not hear readily.

Dude, this is more like the soundtrack to an awful "indie" movie that people pretend to like, even though, deep down they know it's garbage, but they don't wanna admit it, because all the "smart people" they know really like it.

Come on, Beardo. What else ya got?

Listening to this album at maximum volume before the shop opens has been a long running ritual. I'm blasting it so loud right now, the walls are shaking.

I like the slower tracks folks are throwing on here... like that Seu Jorge piece (what a fantastic musician)... but I also listen to a fair amount of music with... erm... higher bpms...

or... to a greater degree...

and

These tracks stay in my headphones... along with a healthy smattering of hip hop, R&B, and big band music (I mean, when Ella's How High the Moon comes on, everything else just fades away).

But I gotta say, there's a ton of stuff in this thread I haven't listened to in forever that I really should dig up... it's a fantastic read, so thanks, everyone.

How about reggae-style covers.
