continue using the antifugal cream or powder for 2 weeks or at least 1 more week after the symptoms resolve.

RAGBRAI is only a few days away and I'm dealing with an insane itchy, mild discomfort in my ass and taint area. I've been dealing with it for a couple weeks and it doesn't really seem to be getting any better, if anything, it's getting worse. I have taken the last week off from riding thinking that would maybe help but it hasn't.
Any suggestions? I've been using the following stuff throughout the day...
*Wash with a mild soap or shampoo
*Tucks pads
*Preparation H
*Vagisil (as of this evening)
Please help. I'm scared for how out of control this could get during RAGBRAI.

First off ignore everything written, everything here is just soooo wrong.
The condition you are describing is called pruritis ani and has nothing to do with cycling. First off, seeing a doc is important as serious conditions can cause anal itching.
More commonly though it is a diagnosis of exclusion and is effectively handled by dietary changes and avoiding over cleansing (the natural response is to think it a sanitary issue and try to scrub the itch away which in fact makes it worse). Avoid tomato products, beer, coffee, tea and cleanse with warm water only. Add fiber to diet as well. Again this is only if primary pruritis ani, secondary causes must be eliminated as a cause prior to this.

Of course surgeonstone is right. My only criticism of OP's decision to use a walk-in clinic is that seeing a dermatologist (specialist) would be a better plan. Lots of skin ailments look similar, and this sort of thing is not really the forte of the urgent care doc. Going to an expert seems to make more sense to me.

Really, believe me in this, with the situation as described I would start with a good family practice doc. From there a GI or General surgeon/colorectal surgeon with an interest in this area. I have seen and treated many with this condition and am somewhat amazed at how many docs get it wrong.

Ditto, this summer. Swampbutt weather. Mostly seems to be aggravated by one set of generic padded gel shorts that hold way too much perspiration and don't wick well, so I'm ditching those. No problems with the AeroTech shorts.
A sitz bath, or just soaking in the tub with Epsom salts provides a lot of relief. Then follow up with appropriate OTC ointments.

Click on the "make your own" and Taint can be anything you want it to be. Urban Dictionary is not a reliable source.
Just ask Rick Santorum.

I was injecting a little humor by citing the OP's source in APA format as a reply to the "without a citation" comment. I am well aware of Urban Dictionary and its functionality.
