Addiction LXXVII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Couldn’t have asked for a better ride tonight. Super peaceful, zero wind, no cars, quiet, and the temperature was perfect.

Reset the wheel, seems to want to skip on two gears, not consistently like before, but not predictable. Other gears worked fine. I know you were as concerned as I was.

Obviously. Since you really have no clue, perhaps putting something like that up without knowing what's actually going on, might not be the best idea.

I really appreciate it.

I think I'm going to snag my old dumb turbo trainer from my folk's house tonight, strap the big chrome SLT to it, and try my hand at a FTHR test.

I'll probably blow it because I have no idea how to even start with pacing something like this, but we'll see.
I think we sense a nascent training geek. Just do what @LAJ says and you’ll kick ass.

A big crash at the end of the race, no?

Stop playing innocent. You're very well informed, and you know exactly what's up. There's still no news on Ryan Newman, the driver of the 6 car, for those that may be wondering.

I had an MRI today, they’re still checking for possible cause of that headache incident.

All the money in my wallet says that although your MRI may show anything from banal normality to the presence of a gestating Athena, it will contain no explanation for your headache.

I also took several walks in the snow with Benson today. But I do that every day.

Blue cheese mustard update: I made a mixture with it using minced shallots and Thai basil. Put it on some chicken breasts and roasted them. Pretty good.

Scary stuff. I know that the cars are designed to crumple but it still doesn't make it any less shocking to see.
