Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I once lived in Wilmington, DE. Home to one of the four K-car assembly plants.

I don't know that I've ever been to Brainerd. Duluth is larger, it's on the water and it's a regular family destination.

If you time it right, you can catch an NHRA event. Brainerd has a fun atmosphere, and the racing is good too.

A K-car was the first new car that we had when I was a child. Took a road trip through the Black Hills and down to Las Vegas in that thing with my Dad, uncle and brother.

My dad and my brother (plus wives, kids, etc...) went on a road trip thru the Mid-West, around the time of the first K-car styling change. My brother rented a new Aries from a local Dodge dealer and my dad drove his new Trans-Am. The K-car got more looks and comments along the way than the Pontiac.

Most of the capability of a pickup but with creature comforts and a not god-awful ride quality? Sounds great to me!
