Very nice, pretty hard to beat a chrome Paramount for vintage cool and like you said, even non enthusiasts know it's cool. Many had a Schwinn 10 speed and may not have known exactly what a Paramount was, but they did know it was the top of the line and they didn't get one.
Those rims were the factory spec if it came with or was ordered with clinchers as many were, lots of buyers walked in and said gimmie the best ya got, but I don't want those pita sew-up, glue on whatever the heck tires.
Both of mine have Weinmann rims, the 58's are original non concave and the 74? has the concave rims that you will see with Schwinn Approved stickers sometimes and even in 73, Schwinn specced 27x1 1/4 clinchers.
Of course you could order anything that was available at the time, Schwinn was all about service and would accommodate just about anything the customer asked for
I spent many hours drooling over the Paramounts and most of them I saw on the showroom floor had clinchers for bike boom buying American market, most of which were not truly serious cyclists.

Gorgeous Paramount! I'd love to pair my P15-9 with a P13-9 and experience the differences in geometry. DB 531 bikes are really good, and my P15 is brilliant. A truly special ride that is aided by a Brooks saddle and Compass tires. And brifters, haha.
