I used to own one just like this. miss it.
Anyone in Chicagoland area with one (or any of those 3-speed drum shifters), let me know. I'm looking to buy.

My 3rd bike, 1st with gears. I was11. Photos bring back memories. Top one - that yard looks like a composite of my parents' and grand parents' outside Boston.

These bikes aren't too hard to find. My 1939 Raleigh was a barn find for $50 and the seller was just cleaning up. Another was bought on Craigslist. Oftentimes the sellers don't know what they have.
I don't search under 3 speed bikes, I just do a general search on bicycles.
Good luck

[QUOTE=abritishbikefan;21551555]1963 Dunelt 3-Speed bicycle. This bicycle has been refreshed to great working condition. Everything works and it is ready to ride. The frame, fenders and chain guard were removed, compounded and waxed, a brand new Brooks B67 leather saddle was installed, brand new Fenix Cycles 26 x 1 3/8'' tires, tubes and linings were added as well as new brake shoes and hand grips. A new saddle bag was also installed. The 3-speed hub has been lubricated and the lower bracket bearings have been disassembled, cleaned and greased. The chain has been cleaned and oiled. It doesn't look like this bike was ridden very much and probably sat for years. It still has its original patina and some surface rust after 57 years, but mechanically it's great. I have ridden it and it's a sweet ride.
Local pickup only.
I found a 1968 Dunelt womans 3spd last night for $20. Where do you find parts for these bikes. I'm interested in fixing this for starters and making ggv this a hobby.

I first started with Sheldon Brown. He knew these bikes inside and out.

Then I ordered many parts from Harris Cyclery

I also learned how to service the bottom bracket and 3 Speed hub from YouTube videos. These bikes are easy to work on once you do 1 or 2.
