Wife is getting a road bike!!!
I am sooooooooooooooooooo happppppy! We will have a +1 in the house. he he he ....
After I rode the metric today, I came home and my wife was happy that we were going shopping for a bike tomorrow (sunday). I have been struggling the past two weeks on where to take her shopping. The bike shop I really like and that is so nice and helpful here sells Trek but I and my family have always owned Giants but the best Giant dealership is 2 plus hours. They are OK to deal with. I got both my Giants there but had to go back a few times and the drive was a killer as far as time went.
So I called my buddy up to see if he was working at the local shop and he was and I brought my wife in there otday after my ride. She got to try some bikes and picked the Trek Lexa SLX. She ordered it and it comes next week.
I am happpppy!

Looks like a good bike except for the tires. I had the R1's on my Madone and they didn't last long. I didn't wear them out but they cut real easy. Both tires were done in by small limestone rocks on top of asphalt.

Congratulations! I hope she enjoys it. And that the two of you have many enjoyable rides together.

Congrats to you both! I looked at the SLX before winding up with the 3.1 Madone Apex. Did 33 miles today.

I've been eying a Look 566, last year's model on sale. My husband was all for me getting a new road bike, and was encouraging me to go with carbon ....then he watched me test riding it and joked about how maybe I shouldn't get it as I was already dropping him on some hills. I think he's kidding...

Congrats chef! Now, what are you gonna do if she drops you? Ha! Have fun together sir! I'm jealous, my wife has NO interest in cycling at all.
