Fair price for selling a 2012 trek 7.2 fx?

As the title says im wondering what a fair price to sell this at.

https://imgur.com/a/384nf

im thinkin $300. i bought it middle of last year. rode it about 150 miles so there is some wear to the bike. there is that little paint chip in the frame. other than that the bike is like new. chain is a little dirty though, but ill obviously clean that up before selling.

just looking for opinions on what a fair price would be.

If you're putting it on Craigslist ask a little more than you actually want for it as people love to throw low ball offers. I think you could get $300 for it easily.

Sounds like an easy sell.

What's the replacement bike?

Ask for $100 less than what you paid for and start from there,$300 is too cheap for a bike this new.

You can try this but be prepared to come down to 30-50% off MSRP. That's the going rate for even lightly used hybrids around here. Potential buyers can can probably get a new 2012 7.2FX on closeout for 20-25% off. Winter is also a pretty bad time to sell a bike IME.

Yes you are so right,location/season of the year play a big role in buying/selling,don't hurt to try however.

I see now that you are located in Wisconsin. Here in Louisiana we don't have much of an off season and that bike wouldn't last a day on CL for $300. I would actually buy it from you at that price if you were in my area as I'm looking for a spare.

Ads mean people are selling. Doesn't mean people are buying. Now if you put it up for $200 it would sell fast regardless of the time of year. The used bike market is even slow this time of year here in Southern California. I ride year round but I guess the majority of cyclists only ride when it's at least 70 degrees out here.

We bought two, 2013 7.2 FX and one, 2012 7.2 FX new at the LBS in December. The 2012 was $445. You'll do fine around $350 in my opinion.

Also, we sold two (men's and women's) 2010 Trek MTB's (4300's) in January in Michigan, to one buyer within 2 weeks of posting on CL. We got full asking price. You might be surprised.

And, what size and color? Anything added to the basic bike, that goes with it.
