Casati Bikes

From what I can gather, a highly regarded frame builder. Anyone have one or know someone with one?

Yes, have known several. Uniformly top quality. Do they still exist, do they make carbon? More likely you should take this over to C&V.

Definitely not cheap but $5000 for a custom bike with Campy and Deda all around is not bad given pretty generic bikes are that price and much more.

16.5 lbs with brazed Spirit tubing and disk brakes.

Casati Inox 99. Brazed Columbus XCR tubes. Bought the frame for $1800 usd from a bike shop in Singapore that was using it as a display model. Paint used is some sort of metallic that shifts hues depending on sun angles hitting it. Shipping to the US for $150 arrived in a few days via DHL. My best bike score deal in a decade.
I have yet to see another Casati with XCR on the road!

so that's what that paint is. When I purchased the bike thru the internet, I didn't know the paint could change color just by looking at the pics. But then when I received the bike, I realized this paint was not your average paint. It was a big pleasant surprise

I have about 30 different color options that Cicli Barco sent me for that kind of paint. It is a $500 option.

They call it "Cangiante" or 'Effetto Camaleonte", The BLUE-RED-PURPLE is stunning.

wow $500. Mime isn't as pronounced as a blue-red-purple effect.
With my color, you can't tell the color change from afar 20 meters away, but standing a few meters from the bike you can tell, but my color is definitely more "low key" side of the spectrum
