I should've order 2 more of these bibs. They fit perfectly and the material is good quality. They'll last me a few years. Bellwether bibs.

Takes a licking and keeps on ticking

Two months and two days after I ordered from xxcycle, this crushed box landed on my doorstep with a soft whimper:

In it was a pair of rumpled but reasonably unscathed B&M dynamo lights:

...and they work perfectly!

Longest I’ve waited for an international shipment, and the worst condition packing box I’ve ever received. But all’s well.

Still waiting on e small eBay purchase from Munich made on August 13. You've got me beat (so far). I have absolutely no tracking data. I have a USPS tracking number, but they say "still awaiting package."

Maybe more's coming.

I spoke with USPS this morning. They have nothing but the tracking number. They don't know the source or destination. All they could tell me is that it's formatted properly (checksums, etc).

@ascherer, Andy, where did you get the dynamo hub? Did you build the wheel? Are the lights all installed and running now?

I got the wheelset back in June or July from either the CR or iBob list, it was a screaming deal, a Sanyo dynamo laced to VO PBP rims, I think the rear hub is a 105. Eventually I may relace the SA hub to that rim for matchy-matchyness 🤓. Maybe not.

Front light is mounted, next week I’ll route the wiring to the rear and replace the Spanninga battery light that’s on the fender now. Photo was taken before I routed the wiring.

An Audax UK 300KM Brevet badge. It's some years since I rode a 300 but I thought I should make up for lost time.

I've seen several sets on eBay recently with replacement pads. I guess back when spares and repro pads weren't available people just used whatever fit and tossed out the old pads. Nice to see some of them weren't thrown out.

Two of my favorite lights on that nice bike of yours. If you want you can even strip and polish the Cyo heatsink for a slightly shinier and better matching look.
