Juvela,
best guess is that the fork is a replacement. has Campi fork ends. Hopefully that makes everything else make more sense. If you look in the archives there was a bit of discussion when I first posted pictures . By the way, I looked at every classic French bike mfg I could find to try and see if I could id the bike from the head badge holes with no success. Odd details, the solid huret dropouts, the bullet ends on the chain stays, Huret bottom bracket. The frame weighs about 4.75 lbs stripped so probably cromo.

A bike I just finished for my wife. Ome more i will say
(I just Need to find the front light)
Nothing really fancy, but I must admit that I really like these "women's" bikes. They have something special in my opinion.

Finally I have my bike at home. It's a 38 year old Peugeot road bike I got when I was about 4 years old.
So this fall /winter I will be cleaning and polishing.

Picked up this UE-18M in 2018 for my niece, but she wanted one of my old Nikons instead. Finally built this up last month to give to a friend recovering from knee surgery. Among other exercises her doctor recommended cycling to help build strength. She likes it and I was happy I could help out. I replaced the Delrin shifting with 6 speed SIS and the steel crank with alloy cotterless, other than that and the saddle all the other non-consumables are original. Love these mixtes.

Wow! how rare is that do you think? I have never seen a road bike that small, never mind a vintage French bike. That is so cool!

Super cool small bike @Susannav.
At the other end of the size scale, there's this. Same fork graphics? Same era if not year (I can't remember what year it is) If fact it's just the down tube graphic that had to be made smaller to fit.

Mine is in kind of a good condition. I will clean and polish it and then hang at the wall as decoration.

Here is the Motobecane Grand Record 650b, gussied up for commuting. I overcame my aesthetic resistance and mounted the Planet Bike rack for panniers. I thought I would reconfigure this bike again, but I remembered how much I like it as is, so it will stay this way for a while.

Braking has been good since I got the brakes and cable tension properly adjusted. I am using Kool Stop cantilever shoes rather than the stock MAFAC pads and holders.
If you're also dealing with the same bike (Motobecane Grand Record), be wary of the brake reach in the rear. I tried Weinmann 750 brakes, and they would not have worked without modifying them further, like filing the pad holder slot to let the pads sit lower. I ended up finding a set of MAFAC Raid brakes at a reasonable price, and the extra mm's of reach made the difference.
Also, wheels here: https://www.cyclestoussaint.com/coll...speed-clincher

@noobinsf Thank you. My french bike is Peugeot with Vitus tubes (sorry for the bad photo). The photo is back when I bought the bike. I changed saddle, bar-tape and cables since then.
The wheel-set in the link you posted is a good bargain but unfortunately I leave at the other side of the Atlantic (Greece).
Is the rear shimano hub 126mm? I also prefer freehub over old freewheel.

I discussed it in this post: https://www.bikeforums.net/20399103-post19.html
Greetings! My wife is half Greek and spent a great deal of time there growing up.

Here is my Peugeot PR-10 from 1972 that I've been riding a lot this year. The picture is from the last ride this month. It has Grand Bois Cypres EL 700 x 30c now which are super supple and in general the best tires I've ever used. I'd like to put fenders on the bike but I doubt there is any room left to squeeze them in, I'll have to downgrade to 28c or even 25c, I guess.

1975ish Peugeot U018, upgraded for my wife with 700c alloy rims, Nitto bars, Shimano/Suntour derailleurs, and non-plastic Huret shift levers. Rides beautifully, and now much lighter.

camjr : love the shot next to the train - colours are so cool!
Here are a couple of the frenchies currently in the stable: all bike boom but all fun to ride:
My AO-8 from around 1969/70 - owned it since early 70s
Mid 70s Motobecane Nomade rebranded for sale in Canada as a Supercycle
LeJeune 15-F from early 70s
