Since you really want Di2 it comes down to comparing the cost of adding it to the bike you have vs. selling the bike and getting one with Di2. As far as I know, the Allez is not offered with it so if you really love that frame, adding it is the only option.

I'm not totally clear if the disc version of this frame has ports for Di2 wiring or not, but since Specialized doesn't sell it that way I'm guessing no. There's talk on other forums of people drilling holes in the frame to accommodate. Sounds a little dicey to me, and a wireless option should definitely be considered.

supply is limited since it's new. Glad its so new it's covered by the warranty.

Sure, but they also have to fly in a Shimano tech from Tokyo for the install, which adds several thousand dollars to the cost.

I put electronic shifting basically in the same bucket as disk brakes and tubeless road tires. Nice, interesting but with questionable performance benefits, more headaches and higher cost, especially over the long-term.

As for comparing Record and Super Record, anyone that would pick those two electronic group sets over those is definitely high.
I understand your concerns BUT that is absolutely not true for tubeless.

Get the Di2 and put it on the frame. There is no rule I know of that states wires must be run internally. Please, when the batteries need replacement, recycle them properly. We don't need more heavy metals in the water supply! Same with the derailleurs, recycle properly. If worried about the wires, go wireless SRAM.
