Reviving Selle Anatomica Titanico
Got a used leather seat of craigslist- Selle Anatomica Titanico. Rails seem straight and top leather is in decent shape. The bottom has "laminate layer" grued and that one started to come off. I am interested in making the seat functional again - any recomendations? Should I release the tension screw as much as possible and glue the laminate back? Which glue - will superglue work of something better is needed? How soft/hard should the leather be? Should i soak it in Lexol or similar conditioner?

If no joy from the manufacturer, a shoe repairer (if you can find one still in business) should be able to help.

I agree: a cobbler should be able to do that. If you are a committed DIYer, I'd recommend Barge Cement. It's a rubber contact cement. If you are really old school, you could use high glue but I think your' bettter off with a rubber-based product. Clean the surface with min spirits (and possibly with acetone) to get rid of oil and old adhesive (test first so you don't knacker your saddle). I'd probably humidify the thing overnight in a bowl with warm water (not IN the water, OVER the water) or something. To make teh leather flexible. Then dry it a bit and use Barge.
Or use hide glue. See discussion here, about glues for old leather machine drive belts (the precursor to the v-belt). https://www.practicalmachinist.com/v...-belts-252652/
