Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

In for a pair of EV Pitch.

You frequently find Oakleys on sale on Ebay, but it is hard to tell if they are fakes. Many are gray market, which I am OK with.

Damn that is one expensive tire!

I've switched from the GP4000 to the Michelin Pro 4 Endurance V2 / Krylion 2 endurance. Much happier in terms of durability, and can be found for under $40.

The price I listed was for a pair, but still not cheap.

now THAT is a deal!

Bicyclerollingresistance.com has found the Krylion 2 Endurance to be slightly worse performing than the older Pro 4 Endurance, but the difference is so small that it could have been due to manufacturing variances / testing variances.

How are they in wet conditions? I just may be interested in picking some up if they can handle rain!

Honestly I have them only on my road bike, not my commuter bike, so have only used them in wet conditions very occasionally. No complaints from my limited experience, they seemed to grip well. Grip, cornering, etc. in dry conditions is excellent.

I'd imagine they perform no worse in wet conditions than any other "all purpose / performance" oriented tire such as the GP4000/5000, Schwalbe One, etc. etc.

If you are really looking for a wet / winter condition tyre, you should probably go more for something like the Continental GP 4 Seasons (which I have used for a road trip from Belgium to Germany last winter in wet / muddy conditions and was excellent). But those tires tend to have more rolling resistance and don't feel as nice to ride as the performance oriented tires.

The Michelin Pro 4 Endurance / Krylion 2 endurance is really just an excellent all-round tire. Good rolling resistance, but significantly more puncture protection than the fastest tires.

I've been using PRO4 Endurance/Krylion 2 Endurance tires for years, and find them to be a great all season training tire.

Small potatoes deal but a deal nonetheless - Conti Race 28 tubes are like ~$3.50 each from Merlin Cycles. I just bought 3 plus $6 shipping to the US for a grand total of $17.

I'm out of supply of PRO4 Endurance 25s. Any experience with the Power or just go with Krylion 2?.

I bought wifey this bike. Last one and now they are gone (about 1.9K assembled and shipped).
Fuji SL 2.1 Ultegra hydraulic disc.
I have a 2018 Fuji SL 1.1 disc that I love. Now if the weather would let up, she might be able to ride it.

The difference between both is that the Krylion 2 Endurance have reinforced sidewalls, while the Power Endurance do not. That is why the Krylion 2 Endurance is the true successor to the Pro 4 Endurance. The Power Endurance seems more like the successor to the Pro 4 Service Course. All this according to reviews at bicyclerollingresistance.com (great resource for all things tires).

You get stronger sidewalls, but the trade-off is a bit more rolling resistance. Just depends on what you are looking for. Both great tires.

Ten years ago, they were virtually the only game in town for enthusiasts.

PowerTap hubs used to be the most common power meters, because they were far cheaper than SRM crankset based power meters( and they were easy to swap between multiple bikes).

Stages really changed the power meter market when they introduced affordable crankset based power meters.

Anybody know of any great deals on sunglasses (preferably polarized)? I need a new pair (and probably ought to get a backup as often as I break/lose them) and don't want to go anywhere near Oakley prices as often as I end up replacing them.
